3CX is an open-standard, software based IP phone system that works with popular IP Phones. A complete Unified Communications solution, including web conferencing, presence, soft phones, smart phone clients and more – without the cost and management headaches of an ‘old style’ phone system or the limitations of a shared cloud PBX. 3CX can also be hosted on Linux on your own servers or in a data center. The biggest advantage of hosting 3CX on Linux is that it allows you to leverage the many data center providers that have professional hosting infrastructures for deploying and managing Linux VPS instances and at a very low cost. Most of these data center providers (including Amazon and Google) have easy to use portals for easy firewall rule setup and machine management - allowing you to focus on PBX configuration as opposed to machine maintenance! With 3CX on Linux a whole new landscape of cloud opportunities opens up. In many ways the 3CX Phone System for Windows is much like other IP telephony solutions in that it enables companies to replace a conventional PBX with equipment to make and receive calls using VoIP (Voice over IP). In others, however, it’s quite different, with a number of unique features that really do make it stand out.
